Lauren Matarazzo Silva is a photographer who has lived and worked in Amman, Jordan; Lima, Peru; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Philadelphia; New York and on the presidential campaign trail throughout the United States. Matarazzo Silva documents the landscapes and characters around her with an eye for the beauty in the mundane. Her work—shot primarily on film and uncorrupted by digital manipulation—captures her subjects with dignity, as they really are, from her grandmother preparing ceviche in Lima, to men working in a meat market in São Paulo, to the former Vice President meeting voters in Iowa. She is currently based in New Jersey.
